Frank Mir is a professional mixed martial artist with a black-belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. On June 19, 2004, Mir won the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Tim Sylvia by armbar. In 2008, Mir appeared as one of the coaches on The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 reality series, which culminated in a fight for the UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Mir won the title on December 27, 2008, via TKO due to strikes.
